Welcome To Best Mowing Excuse – Find The Mower So You Have No More Excuses

Push Lawn Mower

Which Lawn Mower Is Right For You Is it your goal to have a wonderfully well-manicured lawn that you could be proud of?  Wouldn’t you just love to have the best-looking lawn on the block?  And maybe even be the envy of your neighbor – you know the one – he is always bragging about how his house is the best looking one on the block?

The first thing you must do is to decide what type of mower would be best for your lawn and yard.  Let me tell you some of the things you should consider when choosing a mower.

Generally, there are 2 types of motors that are used for lawn mowers – electric and gas-driven.  The other type of mower does not actually have a motor – you have to push it yourself.

First off, what are the characteristics of the area you will be mowing?  The bigger the area the bigger the mower should be.  You will need the power of a larger engine to mow a substantial yard.  Unless you are really healthy and ambitious and relish the idea of pushing the manual mower yourself.  Ah!  Working up a sweat and building those muscles!

If you have a small area, the non-powered (i.e., people-powered) mower will suit you fine.  However, you might not want to exert yourself so much with this type of mower. In that case get a powered mower (not so much sweat and muscle building here!).  There are 3 choices – battery-powered, corded/plug-in, and gas powered mowers. You will need to know if the farthest side of the yard is 30 to 35 feet from your electrical source if you get the corded/plugin one.  Your small lawn can be trimmed easily with any of these powered lawn mowers.

Now, if you have a large, rolling yard, something like a golf course (lucky you), the type of mower you should get is one you ride on.  It’s kinda like a tractor, but it is for mowing your lawn, not tilling the field. This type of mower is powered by diesel or gasoline and can have Horsepower from 8.5 to 13.  Also, some of these ride-on mowers have attachments for plowing snow. With that you can really be the envy of the block!

So let’s talk about costs.  It is probably an important factor in your decision.  You can get the manual lawn mowers for around a hundred bucks.  The gas-driven lawn mowers will range anywhere from $150 to $1800.  The electric-powered, $200 to $2000. And if you want to go for the ride-on mower, be prepared to pay anywhere from $800 all the way up to $7000 or more.
