How do I start a Craftsman 650 Lawn Mower?
I'm trying to do something nice for my sister/bro-in-law by mowing their yard while they are out of town. They have a craftsman 650 mower, has a pull start and also an an electric start switch. I can't get it to start! I put gas in it, I've pulled the cord... I've turned the switch.. it will try but nothing happens. Can't find the manual and can't find manual online.. What am I doing wrong? Thx!
Thanks everyone.. He mows the lawn frequently so its in good working order.. I just don't know what these parts you are mentioning are! I'm holding the bar against the handlebar, pulling the cord, and then turning the on switch.. it makes a noise but never catches. Then I have to pull the cord several more times for the start to make any noise after I turn it again. (I'm assuming I'm flooding the engine when I have to re-do this part?) A manual/diagram would be so handy right now! I can't believe the craftsman website doesn't have online manuals!
it may be a little red thingy on the engine it looks like a small rubber ball you need to push it in three or four times it shoots fuel into the carburetor.
