How do I adjust drive clutches on Dixon ztr 4421 mower?
I have an old Dixon ztr 4421 chain drive & vertical cone clutch system. I need to adjust the left side clutch so it will equal the right side clutch tension.
i used to work on these for a living. seems like there was a spring steel rod like 5/16 or 3/8 diameter and maybe 6 or 8" long that carried the "female" cones and these tended to break alot, causing the left or right side to steer funny. i do remember that you have to run these rods in or out to adjust the clearance between the cones and then adjust the handles till they both lined up in the "neutral" position.
