Which Lawnmower Should I Get?
I have a decent sized yard, when I just moved in a little while ago, I thought I could use my self-propelled walk-behind mower for the job, NO, it took almost 4 hours!!! :/ So, I am in the market to buy a lawn tractor, but here is the problem, I have a sloped yard, and the Lowe's guy said to get a mower with a more powerful engine to take it on because it's not bare, it still has grass on it, anyway, my neighbor has only a 17hp mower and it poops out A LOT! So, I want your opinion, I am living in NJ so no different emission standards, and I was thinking the Husqvarna 22hp Kohler or Briggs (I can't remember) with 42 inch deck. Those are all good mowers. But price???? don't push your luck! First of all it depends whats on sale and whats not. And prices do vary a little from store to store. You should have mentioned your price range because that will certainly be the major factor in determining which one to get. Those are all decent mowers that you mentioned. But if it was me I would get a John Deere Garden Tractor or a Toro Zero turn type. These go for about 1700-2200 dollars. Right now they are desperate for business so you might be able to get them with 0-3% financing. Those dealers offer their own financing so go to the dealership and crunch some numbers with a sales rep and don't feel obligated to buy cause they may make you feel like "you have to buy it now". I am glad you didn't mention Craftsman that shows you are wise. I stay away from Craftsman- as my local lawn mower repair guy calls them "crapsmans" which basically have been ruined by Krappy Kmart who now owns Sears.
