John Deere rider starts but dies when brake released?
I have an older John Deere mower. It starts fine but stalls when I try to release the brake. It has a new battery. I bypassed the switch that's in the seat and it still did the same thing. Took the air filter off and didn't help. Really need to mow my lawn. Any help?
The clutch must be stuck and stalling the engine. It either needs to be cleaned or replaced. There are forums just for lawnmowers and lawn tractors that may help you also.
