John Deere Mower Seat
John Deere: "It keeps going and going...."?

I have a strange problem with my JD riding mower. The problem suddenly cropped up the other day when I attempted to shut off the engine right after doing the annual service on it. The engine won`t shut off, either by key or getting off the seat. I have to pull the plug wire to make it quit. It has always been well maintained. The electrical system was never disturbed at anytime when I performed the service. What could be the cause?

The ground wire from the ignition modual is not grounding. This could be because it is disconnected or there is a bad connection. The modual is under the engine cowling and the wire, usually black, runs to a post on the ignition switch. There is most likely a connection near where it comes out of the engine cowling. It could be the ground from the ignition switch to the tractor frame.
