How would a lawn mower run if its fuel filter is plugged?
we thought we had water in the gas, but it just smokes gas, doesn't want to run full powered and acts like it wants to stall.
first thing I would do is change the spark plug, it is so easy to do and cost little if that still doesn't help go right to the carb. When you pull the choke out doe sit run better? If so you have fuel/carb issues When cleaning the carb I also like to replace the fuel filter and check the gas to see if its old or water in it. The easiest way to see if there is water is to pull the bottom of the carb off, and that would be the float bowl. Is there water in the bottom of it? You will see it very easily. Is there dirt in the bottom of the bowl? Take your carb off and compleately clean it with carb cleaner. Use compressed air if you got it. Spray cleaner in the main jet and every little hole you see and with air after it. Put it back on, if it still does run like crap and the choke does make it run better, time for new carb.
