Honda 5.5 Lawn Mower Hard Starting?
Mower is only a couple years old, well maintained, fresh gas......is is very hard to start and keep running at anything other that full throttle. Usual stuff is good....plugs, air cleaner, oil, and gas. Could the governor be out of adjustment?....any ideas......I am ready to throw the thing away, too many problems since I bought it.
Two things come to mind:
1. Check that the choke isn't stuck. This is what allows air into the engine and if it's getting to much or to little, it won't run right.
2. Most carburetors have little adjustment screws that - well they adjust something that makes the engine run smoother. I watched my neighbor play with these on his mower and the results were amazing, but I can't remember his explanation.
I'm not a mechanic so I might be way off base here, but I hope this helps.
