Lawn Mower Problem Ranch King ?
I have a Ranch King that WILL start if I jump it with jumper cables right to the starter but it will not start if I turn the key.
I replaced the battery, the starter solenoid and the ignition switch but it still will not turn over using the key.
There is a little box next to the starter solenoid that has a wire broke off on it but I do not know what this box is or what it does. It is very small only about 1.5 inches long.
I have good voltage going to the starter solenoid but no voltage coming out. If I loop the solenoid to itself the engine will turn over and start.
Please Help!
I think the box is the stat safety switch that kills the starter unless weight is on the seat. The switch near the starter is likely the kill switch. http://www.gardenweb.com/ is a forum that discusses this stuff. You might google "Ranch King repair manuals" and see what can be downloaded.
