I have a craftsman riding lawn and mower starter wont even click.?
The deck broke off of this mower and i decided to try and convert it into a racing mower. I took the button under the seat out that keeps it from running without pressure and was going to mount it like a jet ski pull cord. However, ever since i removed it the starter wont even click with the button fully depressed. I charged the battery and checked the wiring but i cant find a problem, does anyone know what might be happening?
Cut the wires to the switch and twist them together that should bypass the safety switch under the seat. There should be a safety switch on the clutch lever and the lever that kicks on the blades too. If twisting the wires together on the seat switch doesn't work unplug the wires from the other safety switches. There will be two wires that are the same color then a bunch of black wires. omit the black wires and twist the two wires of the same color together. That will omit the other safety switches. If that doesn't work take the key switch out and look at the prongs on the back they will be marked with letters. You kinda have to look hard. Look for the one that is marked with a B. Run a hot wire from your battery strait to that prong on the key switch. If that doesn't work it will probably be your solenoid. Good luck
