Craftsman 42" mower deck belt?
I have a craftsman model ys4500 with a 42" mower, i believe my belt i have for it has been stretched beyond use so i need to get a new one. Sears doesn't have this in stock and needs to order it - i need to mow the lawn today or tomorrow. so because i inpatient can i use a troy-built belt *42"* that i can find at Lowes. or some other options.?? is there a way i can shrink the original belt by about half an inch?

try contacting stores that sell and service lawn mowers. they can look up your make and model and tell you what length belt you need.
