Ethanol is damaging engines?

There are reports that ethanol added to our gasoline is damaging engines. I just bought a new lawn mower 2 months ago. Now all of a sudden it won't run. Should the government be forcing the gas companies to add ethanol if it is damaging engines? Will the government by me a new lawn mower if the gas damaged it?

I meant to say "buy" me a new lawn mower.
justgetitright: where do you find gas with no ethanol? It seems like every station I go to it says on the pump 10% ethanol.

Ethanol not only damages the engine but can also damage portions of the fuel flow.

Harley Davidson Motorcycles had to recall several bikes because the connector from the gas tank to the engine (the metal piece that snaps onto the gas tank) was being eaten away by Ethanol.

I purchased a HD ElectraGlide Classic and will not use any gas that contains Ethanol in it (sorry 76 stations) I paid over $20 thousand for my bike and am not going to chance ruining my motor.

I doubt that the government is going to replace your lawn mower.

You may be able to get the manufacture of the lawn mower to replace the motor regardless of what caused the damage since it should still be under warranty.

Note to asker:

There is one gas station about 30 miles from where I live that still sells 100 octane fuel without ethanol, I normally get my brothers truck and a 55 gallon drum. When I am on road trips, I am pretty screwed all I can do is to use a filter with a very small holes to trap as much of the junk that I can. I pay $3.59 a gallon for the 100 octane so my 55 gal drum runs about $180 to fill up.

I can hardly wait for all of the lawsuits to start pouring in because of all of the damaged engines.
