when I engage the mower blades on my tractor, it makes a loud screeching noise?
lx 176 john deere, loud screech when mower is engaged.
Either the blades or drive is hitting something, is out of aliegnment, or has bad bearings.
Spray it down with penetrating oil and lube. Hopefully this will solve the problem.
Check the blade for big chunks missing from hitting something hard. This will knock it out of alignment. A new blade should fix this. Atleast take the old blade off and shapen it.
