My murray 40" mower doesnt cut very good on one side. Whats wrong?
I have razor sharp blades, and a new belt. The left side cuts great, the right side cuts OK but the grass is left a bit higher on that side. It leaves sort of a hill in the grass and crab grass and tough stuff like that doesnt get cut down hardly at all, while the other side chops it clear down the first pass with no problem. The blades are both on correctly. What the world is going on here? I did notice there is a small amount of up/down slop in the bearing/hub assembly on the right side. Could that cause the problem?
IT HAS NOTHING TO DO W/HOW SHARP THE BLADES ARE, YOUR DECK IS NOT LEVEL,SET YOUR MOWER ON A LEVEL SPOT AND TAKE A LEVEL AND PLACE IT ON THE CUTTING DECK.THIS SHOULD TELL YOU WHERE YOUR PROBLEM IS. IF FOR SOME REASON IT IS LEVEL THEN PUT A SHIM UNDER THE BLADE THAT IS OUT OF ADJ.
