i have a briggs and stratton engine model #219707,type0300,trim e1.i had to remove the saftey switch under the seat to start it after i had it 6 months.today i had to remove the small wire from the coil and adjust the gap on the coil.it started i cut the yard but now it wont restart.i drained the oil and found gas in the oil.it started once after i changed the oil.but that was it.i am 70 yrs old on social security and cant afford to pay 45 dollars an hour to a mechanic.the mower body is like new ,if only i could get this peice of crap engine to run and keep it running, help
Question, why did you have to adjust the coil gap? Did it come loose? The gap on that coil will make no differance so long as it doesn't drag on the flywheel. It is set from .003-.008" The problem with the gas in the oil is the carburator. Get a rebuild kit and take the carb off and clean it. Soak it in a good parts cleaner and make sure all the passages are open. Reassemble with the new parts. Like some one else said, check the float to make sure it doesn't have gas in it.
