What are the pros and cons of reel mowers and power motors?
I'm looking for more regarding performance but any other comments about it are appreciated. Also, any suggestions as to brands would be helpful.
Benefits of reel mowers
-- Get your exercise without buying a treed mill.
-- Cuts your lawn instead of chopping it. you get more of the golf course look.
-- It is easier on your lawn, especially durring hot weather.
-- Good for the envoroment.
-- Very quiet you can mow at 6am and not disturb your neighbors.
Benefits rotary (power) mower
-- Self propelled
-- Blades much easier to sharpen replace.
-- Gets the job done faster.
-- will cut wet grass
-- will cut grass that's gotten out of hand.
-- will cut a weedy lawn the real mowers don't do all that well on weeds.
I have one of each my reel mower is a Scots (Green Machine) I think its called. I only use the power one when the grass is wet, or has gotten out of hand.
