I have a troy biult push mower. You use the primer bulb to start it, but will not stay running.? The mower willl stay running as long as you continually pump the primer bulb after you initially get it started. Any ideas?
First, don't tip the mower over to drain the gas. You will get oil where you don't want it. If you need to drain the fuel tank do it right. There are idiots that keep telling people to do this. Don't listen to them.
Your problem is common with small engines. The carburetor has small passages, when they get dirt ect., in them the engine will not run right. To properly fix the problem the carburetor needs to be cleaned. That is, taken apart and soaked in a good cleaner. Put it back together with a rebuild kit. Make sure that the fuel tank is clean. Don't tip the mower over to drain the gas. That will lead to a new set of problems.
