Reel Mower Sharpening Blades
How do you sharpening blades on a reel mower?

I have a craftsman reel mower, and I was wondering how I sharpen the blades on it.
The blades are not cutting worth a flip and I do not know how to remove them. So I was wondering can they be sharpened or what?

Please be detailed in your answer and please state your source if you have any.

Thank you so much.

You can buy kits that are basically sandpaper on a long bar that the blade rubs against. There are different widths for different width mowers. I just put ones on both a Scott and a Brill, and they work very well. Basically, you push the lawnmower around on concrete with the sandpaper kit installed, until it stops rubbing on the blade so much. Then you take the kit off, re-adjust the gap, and go mow.

If I can find the brand name, I'll add it to my answer. good question!

P.S. I love reel mowers. They're a great workout and they don't irritate bees like gas-powered ones do.
