After running my 10HP motor, it starves itself for gas. Any remedies?
I have a Honda 10 HP riding lawn mower engine. It starts off running fine but then after a couple of minutes it struggles to stay going, eventually turning off. I can't think of anything else to check. I know quite a bit about motors so don't be shy to use big names and stuff if your scared of confusing me.
Is it running rich or lean? Smoke? If smoking, check your air filters, they may be plugged, causing the machine to suck extra fuel and flood out. Also, check the fuel, is it fresh? Is there any foreign material or water? If you have any foreign material or water in your fuel you will need to empty the tank and clean the fuel delivery system. Clean the carb, make sure the jets are clear. Change the fuel filter. Check your spark plug.
