Takes some getting used to mow the lawn, if you're used to mow mower gas. You just have to remember that you are using a cable and you need to know when not to mow. The big advantage is that the mower can be raised / lowered, depending on the amount of lawn.

b&d electric mulching mower
we have about 3/4 of an acre, ground is very rough with tree roots etc. we have used this mower 6 times so far, and it has been wonderful. my only concern is the plastic on the wheels, will it hold up to the tough terrain. all the electric mowers i looked at have the same plastic parts, so spending more on the mower won't change the durability. easy to put together, easy to use, quiet,comfortable handle. we like it so far.

Love my mower!
I was leery of purchasing this because I wondered if it would be as effective as my old gas-powered mower - I needn't have worried. Compared to my old mower, this one is so much easier to manage because it's so light weight. I felt like I was lugging a tank around when cutting with the gas-powered one. I have a big yard, so I adore that fact that I no longer have to worry that if my mower stops, I either need gas (which stinks up the car for days when you have to fetch it!) or it has just stopped for good (which is what happened and prompted me to go electric). I would definitely suggest this to anyone who is considering investing in an electric mower.

Great for small lawns
Powerfull enough and super easy to setup. I do not use the mulch option. Really cool how easy it is to adjust the mow height.
I recommend this for lawns that are 5000 sq.ft. or less and NOT an irregular shape. Cor management would be to difficult on a lawn that was not fairly square.

Eco-Friendly Lawn Mower
On May 3, 2010 I purchased my electric Black & Decker MM875 Lawn Hog with rear bag directly from Amazon and I was using it within 3 days and I just love it. It is quiet and it does not disturb my family nor my neighbors even if all the windows are open. I am a 56 yrs old female with Rheumatoid Arthritis and Fibromyalgia and I cut my 1/2 acre with no problem. It is actually what my Doctor ordered. I get to walk behind the lawnmower, a good exercise and get my grass cut at the same time without going deaf or inhaling fumes. My riding mower is going into retirement as far as I am concerned, maybe my husband will use it once in a while. I also bought the cover for it and it fits perfect. I love the fact that the cover has a small bag attached to it, I fold the cover and put it into the bag until I need to cover the mower again. The price I paid for both was much cheaper than I would have paid for just the Lawn-mower if I had bought them locally.

Better than Gas mower for small yards.
I have a fenced in 40' X 20' yard for my dog. Got tired of fighting to get the 5 year old 6.5 HP to start, even after replacing the wearable parts. This Black & Decker is easy to push. Slows down very little even in mulch mode. Couldn't use the gas mower in mulch mode because it would bog down. Doesn't collect grass underneath and bog down like the gas mower would in non-mulch mode. The gas mower was 21-Inch self-propelled, but it took a good 30% longer to cut the small yard. The gas mower heavier weight with many unpropelled turns against the fence in a small yard slows the job down.

Impressed with the Power on Bermuda Grass!
I have had much trouble here in Gilbert, AZ trying find a landscaper that will not bring other peoples weeds with them. I decided to conduct my own lawn maintenance and also to purchase the B&D Lawnhog electric mower. To my surprise it is as equal a cut as any of my past landscapers have given me and the power to cut through the bermuda grass. The cord issue is no problem because when it's in the way I simply roll the cord out of the way and continue to cut. Cutting away from the electrical outlet is by far the easiest and quickest way to go. Very happy in Golbert, AZ!!

I have used this mower on a patch of grass 10 x 15 ft in front of my HOA controlled house, works flawlessly. So it's great for yards not worth the hassle of a gas mower.

Lawn hog excellent choice
I moved into a mobile home community and I never had an electric lawn mower in my life. I went from a 2 acre plus lawn to about a 1/16 of an acre where I live now, I wanted a mower that would be easy to maintain and work well. I found that in the Lawn Hog I purchased. I knew it would take getting used to using an extension cord, and I havent mastered that yet, but overall, I have found it to be the perfect choice for the size of my lawn. It cuts very well and is easily maintained. No gas or oil to worry about or tuneups either. I would recommend this product to anyone with a small, flat piece of land.

I have a townhouse with an extremely small lawn. I bought the previous model (MM850) 7 years ago for $200, which is what I just paid for the MM875! The only maintenance I ever performed on the other model was sharpening the blade. Other than that, it was maintenance free and is still working (I just gave it to a friend for their townhouse!). For what it is this is a great product - no gas, no oil, plug it in and away you go ... right out of the box! ... and it does a nice job! The bagger is easy to deal with and the cut height is incredibly easy to adjust. Averaged out over 7 years this product cost me about $30/season. I just can't imagine a better lawn mowing bargain. My only criticisms are that I'm not too fond of how the blade is secured, seems they could have designed it a little better. It works and is safe, but I recommend not being in a hurry and soaking the nut in WD-40 or Liquid Wrench a day or so before working with it. Also, I keep mine outside as I have no shed. For an extra $20 Black & Decker should sell this thing with a cover. I did end up buying a cover and for me it was well worth the $20. So, if your lawn is small and your grass isn't as high as a cornfield and you don't feel like dealing with oil and gas, I recommend giving the MM875 a try!
