What is the right way to fix the spring and starter rope on my Snapper Big Six lawn mower?
The rope won't retract. The spring seems to have come loose from the mechanism. I did fix it and it worked for 2 years, but I don't think I did it the right way, because it was a little quirky and had to finnesse it. The real hassle was that when I get down to it, I have to take off the gas tank and I then had to mess with the carb...... It took a lot longer than it should have. Any tips? I do have the expanded diagams for everything BUT the engine*^#.
If you are good at fixing small engines, contact snapper for the diagrams.
If not, then take it to a Snapper dealer.
