Why does my lawn mower peter out yesterday. I bagged the moist lawn and after a while it just stalled out?
almost as the gas was being choked out. It would run for a few seconds as long as I kept priming the pump. Please help can't afford a new mower.
a tune up may be in order , but check and clean the air filter first , check oil Level , make sure gas is new , hope this helps some what
i am purchasing the plow attachment to my lawn mower this winter to plow driveways. buy weigts or chains too?
i am buying a plow attchemt to my craftsman lawn mower. i am going to be plowing nicely sized driveways. The snow conditions shouldnt be more than 8". do i need to buy weights and chains?
I would get the chains and make a jig on the hitch mount to add a couple of concrete blocks for weight. A lot less expensive than the weights

I have MTD Lawnflite mower with a 3.75 hp motor, the problem is it runs but I can not adjust the idle. the cable moves and so does the arm on the carb, but nothing happens I have to disconnect the spark plug wire to shut it off, (the auto shut off handle is disconnected)
That is what I am asking how does the linkage work. Obvious it not hooked up correct.
So what are you trying to do? Reconnect the shut off handle if you want it to stop, simple. As for adjusting the idle, you can only adjust the throttle screw. You say the arm and throttle cable moves but nothing happens. maybe if you check the linkage you may find that if the engine brake is disconnected it may affect the throttle operation. Safety features are there for a reason
My lawn mower won't start, but I don't know what's wrong...?
The mower has a bag to catch the grass, but this season its been leaving lots of grass behind.
So, I wanted to see what's wrong with it, so I tilted the mower on it's side in order to look at the blade. I put it on the side the gas tank is.
Because of tilting it, some gas leaked out of the mower. I don't know what else I caused.
Now the mower won't start.
What's wrong with it? What did I break?
Check the airfilter for oil. When you tip the mower oil can run from the crankcase through the vent tube into the airbox. If it has oil change it, clean up any oil and check the oil level in the crankcase.
