Lawn Mower Carb
how do you replace carb primmer ball on lawn mower?

tring to replace primmer ball on my briggs& stratton lawn mower

Most of the briggs and strattons have a primer ball that simply has a pl;astic clip in spreader built onto the bulb that simply snap in place..take the old bulb out..doesnt matter if you tear the bulb on the old one..and you will see this plastic clip that you simply squeeze with pliars and they pop right out..some may have a simple metal retainer ring that again you squeeze with pliars and they pop right out..the new one pops right in..here is a picture of the bulb kits..At the bottom here it shows the 2 type bulbs..notice the simple plastic clips they come with...Make sure that the bulb you have is the one with or without the hole in the end..

Cordless Mower
Which would you get: a cordless electric mower or an electric reel mower?

I've been looking at both and most say the same basic things except that the reel ones you can use longer because of better batteries and because they will mow without the power too. Has anyone used both? Has anyone used them on Saint Augustine grass? We have a 4200 square foot yard. I'm looking to take over mowing duties from my husband and I want something other than a gas mower. I'm also kind of wary of the $300 price tag. Can you find them cheaper?

the only advantage of cordless mower is you cannot accidentally cross over the line ,disadvantage is the time limit of the battery and you need extra battery and fast charger to,on the other hand the electric mower is cheaper but you might accidentally run over the line and get electricuted, the other one is manual mower that you push way cheaper and more excercise good luck

Craftsman Mower
My craftsman eletric lawn mower stops every few minutes, what's wrong with it?

This is a 6 year old craftsman electric law mower. Worked great until this summer when it started to stop and run periodically (every few minutes). The stop last only 1 minute or less. What's wrong with it? How can get it fixed by myself? Thanks a lot.

sounds like it is overheating, there should be a cover on the motor that keeps grass clippings from collecting. it may be filled and just needs to be cleaned out. with the mower unplugged take the cover off and blow out the area around the bearings and electrical connections. also while the mower is unplugged flip the mower over and clean under the deck where the blade goes. good luck

Craftsman Mower Bag
i want a new lawn mower......................?

hello, i have a craftsman lawn mower and it runs ok,but does not have really enough power to mow my lawn and the bag is torn apart it spits out all the grass, its also is 6 years old, anyway i want a new mower and i am 14 years old this is the one that i want it has mow power and electric start and its self propeled so my question is how do i persuade my parents to let me get it, i will pay for it with my money, also i mow my, my grandma's, and my uncles lawn

i think they will say no!!!!!!!!!!!!!
thanks i will tell then that

First, I am truly proud of you. You seem to be a careing young man. And your parents should also be proud of you. You are wanting to do a job, and on doing it the right way. You are also trying to save yourself time and energy too. By wanting equipment that will be safe, and work correctly.
Now one thing. If you have the money on hand now, and take this proposition to your parents that you are willing to pay for the entire mower on your own. That would be great, and if they let you, that also would be nice. But.. if they hesitate, listen to them, see if they have other reasons. ok. Always see both sides.
You stated it was getting hard to mow, because of the power. When you first got the mower did it cut real good, but over the years it got harder. The blade needs to be sharpened. This should be done at least every 4-6 months, depending on use. If the engine is not smoking, you still have a nice mower. At least once a year a tuneup. You also can purchase a new leaf bag from your nearest lawnmower service person.
Now another thing you can do, especially if they say the mower is still in good working condition. Tell them you would like to sell the mower to your lawn mower service person, to apply the amount you get for it, to go toward the cost of a nicer, and newer model, that both you dad and mom can both use, with the ease of mowing. But that you would rather do the lawn mowing for them, and your relitives, because that is the kind of son they raised.
